Do I need to also purchase service with my local carriers, for example, if I’m in the United States, do I need to have a contract with AT&T, T-Mobile or Verizon?

Nope! Data service from over 300 worldwide carriers is included in the data plan.

Which data plan should I choose?

For a GNSS receiver, 1 GB is plenty. Tablets will need at least 2 GB if you use it most days even if you are conserving data use.

If I purchase a 1 GB yearly plan how much data do I get?

You’ll have 1 GB of data per month, so 12 GB of data total. Your SIM doesn’t stop working if you go over your allotment. Usage overages are billed monthly, even on yearly data plans. Unused data does not rollover to the next month.

Can I change my mind about my plan?

Yes. You can upgrade, downgrade or cancel your plan on your account dashboard. If you cancel, your service will continue until the end of your monthly usage period, even on yearly plans.

Do I get a new phone number with this plan?

No. This is a data-only plan. RTK Mobile does not currently offer SMS or voice service. Since there is no phone number assigned to the SIM, our SIMs do not offer emergency voice service.
